Support Our Teachers: Donate a Teacher Survival Kit This Summer

Teachers across North Central Iowa are already preparing for the next school year, readying their classrooms, preparing lesson plans, and gathering supplies, often out of their own pockets. At United Way of North Central Iowa, we believe our educators deserve to feel supported, appreciated, and equipped for success from day one.

That’s why we’re launching our Teacher Survival Kit Donation Drive and we need your help.

What is a Teacher Survival Kit?

These kits are small but meaningful bundles filled with everyday essentials to help teachers power through busy school days. From quick snacks to classroom must-haves, each item is a simple way to say, “We see you, and we appreciate you.”

Items We’re Collecting

We’re asking the community to donate any of the following:

  • Small bottles of Tylenol or Advil
  • K-cups (coffee or hot cocoa)
  • Individually packaged snacks (sweet or salty)
  • Crystal Light single packs
  • Post-it notes (2-pack)
  • Travel-size Kleenex
  • Dry erase markers
  • Mints or gum
  • Tide sticks
  • Band-Aids

Where to Drop Off Donations

You can drop off items at either of these convenient locations:

United Way of North Central Iowa
520 S Pierce Ave #204, Mason City

Thrivent Financial
1527 S Monroe Ave, Mason City

Why It Matters

When we support teachers, we support students and our entire community. These kits are a powerful reminder that our educators are not alone.

Together, we can make sure every teacher starts the school year feeling encouraged, prepared, and valued.

Let’s show up for those who show up for our kids every day.
